The main objective of this paper is to study performance analysis of MIMO1 transmissions with OFDM2 technique for WLAN 5.4 GHz applications using in-door realistic channels obtained from the 3D-propagation simulation software developed on the SIC laboratory. From a precise description (geometry, materials, antennas position, ...) of an in-door scene (room in the SIC Lab), we can extract the complex channel impulse response (IR) obtained at a given work frequency. The channel IR allows us to process realistic MIMO transmissions in the corresponding static con guration. In the nal paper, we will focus on different MIMO con gurations (antennas spatial positioning, inter-antennas distances) to study the in uence of these parameters on the channel gain matrix (matrix conditioning), channel correlation, channel capacity and symbol error rate (SER) of the transmission. The MIMO transmission will be limited to narrow bandwidth and the extension to large bandwidth will be performed with OFDM technique. In this abstract, we only give a brief description of the spatio-temporal characterization of the radio channel, some examples for the realistic channel exploitation and a synoptic of the MIMO-OFDM transmission.
